Pipes don't last forever. Galvanized steel pipes, common in homes built before the 1980s, corrode from the inside out reducing water pressure, discoloring your water, and eventually failing entirely. Copper pipes can develop pinhole leaks over time, especially in areas with acidic water. Polybutylene pipes, installed in many homes during the 1980s and 90s, are known to crack and fail without warning. If your New Orleans, LA home has aging pipes or you've had multiple leaks in a short period, a full or partial repipe may be the most cost-effective long-term solution.
